        Verdict

        Star Shield won this last year and scored at Wetherby last month but found Archduke Ferdinand too good at Musselburgh last time. The latter has switched yards since while AYR POET was beaten by the narrowest of margins over a longer trip here a week ago. This shorter trip is not a problem for Jim Goldie’s charge and he can go one better. Irish Flame will be sharper for last month’s outing at Newcastle and remains unexposed while Judgment Call won over 7f here back in May.
