In depth

Verdict

Soaring Star is consistent but relatively exposed and was a beaten favourite again in a handicap at Catterick last week. Sweet Joanna’s run at Wolverhampton, her first for a year, will have been needed but a couple of newcomers catch the eye in this. Gumra is a daughter of Iffraaj and a half-sister to three winners but AMNIARIX has travelled up from Lambourn with Oisin Murphy taking the reins. She is the first foal to race of a Sea The Stars mare who won four times up to a mile and this looks a nice starting point.
