In depth

Verdict

Where's Romeo made a very encouraging debut when a close second behind Ladyanne in an auction maiden at Warwick earlier this month and he has to be respected but this looks tougher as it does for Tim Easterby's Imperialistic Diva, who filled the same position as David Brown's colt in a similar contest, and preference is for LEXI'S HERO. Kevin Ryan's colt also found just the one too good on his debut but that was in a decent maiden at Hamilton won by the useful Boundless Spirit when he was slowly away and looked as though he would be all the better for the outing. Mick Channon's Extra Power was not beaten far in a Newbury maiden earlier this month and has to be considered under Kieren Fallon, while Majestic Max could be of interest on his debut for David Nicholls. Mark Johnston's Evening Dress should improve for her debut spin but needs to and of more interest may be Richard Fahey's Mr Optimistic, who should have learned form his first run at Ripon and he has to be respected with the stable in such good form. Lexi's Hero has an obvious chance though following his debut spin and he looks the one to beat.
