In depth

Verdict

A chance is taken with Charles Parnell, who just gets the nod over Word Perfect and John Keats. The last named is a consistent type for a race of this nature and has held his form well this season. However, he has been held off this sort of mark in the past, so looks weighted to the hilt. Word Perfect is a previous course and distance winner that has to merit consideration. A down pouring of rain would aid her cause but she does look vulnerable under her 6lb penalty for winning at Hamilton last week. Cassie's Choice is another worth a mention, as she is relatively unexposed and should cope with the ground. An each-way move would be interesting. However, Charles Parnell has the proven form in the book and he looks the best option from the Michael Dodds team here.
