Verdict

Big Penny started favourite to beat the useful Whatzdjazz at Worcester in May and will be expected to win races this season. Black Sam Bella has won a point-to-point and finished second in a bumper so should make a hurdler. Lady Mix looks another nice prospect while Tangley made a winning start over timber at Wincanton in March, though that’s earned her a penalty. LIBBY T VALANCE is a half-sister to a winning hurdler in Ireland and she wasn’t beaten far on her hurdles bow at Chepstow last November. She can start making up for lost time today, though Jersey Jewel is an interesting newcomer for the Bowen yard given she won twice on the Flat.
