Verdict
There looks sure to be plenty of pace on here, which is expected to suit Frontier, who can get the better of Spring Pursuit and Dawton if he runs his usual race. That is not to underestimate Tonic Du Charmil, who looks to be getting the hang of things on these shores and will be very hard to keep out of the frame if he runs his usual race. However, the winner of his previous race has done very little to substantiate the form since and he may be vulnerable to a stronger finisher today. Spring Pursuit has enjoyed mixed success on the Flat this season but does have winning form to his name in this sphere. However, he too has a tendency to run out of steam if pressed hard in the closing stages and is probably worth opposing in this company. Dawton has a good attitude and may give the selection the most to do if he shows the same resilience that won his the day in a novices event at Perth earlier in the season. However, the booking of Richard Johnson really catches the eye for Frontier and, in receipt of 3lb from the top weight, he is expected to be too hard to get past when they bear down on the line.
