Verdict
The first division of the maiden can go to Maidanni, with Penny Wedding, Indonesia and Virgin's Tears seen as possible dangers. Godolphin just keep on churning out juvenile winners, and it would be no surprise if Maidanni were to bring up the 50 for the season. The colt made a very promising debut at Newmarket in September when up with the lead throughout before fading to finish fourth behind Forward Move. With normal improvement, he should easily capture a maiden soon, and with nothing standing out here, he has obvious claims. Penny Wedding looks held on the Newmarket form, and a bigger danger may be Indonesia who has a bit of experience, having had two outings already, the latest of which was behind Spear at Redcar last month. Of the newcomers, Virgin's Tears, a Bishop of Cashel filly, hails from a stable that has quickly reasserted itself, while Aylmer Road bids to give Paul Cole another winner in this race. All in all though, Maidanni should be the one to be on.
