Verdict

DEAD OR ALIVE may be able to provide Richard Johnson and Tim Vaughan with another winner; Craiglands should go well whilst De Soto can't be ignored. The latter, a classy performer on his day, has been in action on the level of late and he retains enough ability to be a factor in this company with fitness no concern. Cannon Fire has been the very model of consistency but is without a win over fences so is passed over whilst Black Anshan has a bit to prove after a lacklustre run last time although headgear may assist. Craiglands could be a fun recruit for Jim Goldie's yard and he ran well enough at Perth last month and looks to have the scope to win races. Mizen Raven is a stablemate of the selection and his claims can't be ignored with the services of McCoy engaged but preference is for Dead Or Alive. He has had three runs over hurdles since winning over fences in June but clearly has no problem switching between his obstacles and looks capable of taking another rise in the ratings in his stride.
