Verdict
Desert Sting made a winning start over fences under Rules at Stratford having won five times on the point-to-point circuit, including twice on the points course here. A 12lb rise looks harsh but he should still give a good account and makes more appeal than Warwick scorer The Last Bridge, who stays well but will need all of Richard Johnson’s strength to keep him in contention. Court Dismissed is having his first run at this lowly level but has become disappointing and is now tried in blinkers. IRISH THISTLE was only fourth when favourite at Warwick at the start of the month but a return to the form which saw him run Moorlands Jack to less than a length at Newton Abbot earlier would put him in the picture here.
