Verdict
None of these have raced over the distance before and both Roman Order and Khotan were well beaten last time over the extended mile trips at Epsom and Kempton respectively. The latter in particular will appreciate this extra 2f while the likes of Esteaming, Rundell and Terpsichore all have middle-distance winners in their pedigrees. However, next year's Derby entry, NEWSREADER is also a half-brother to a couple of smart middle-distance winners in America and Italy and a chance is taken the Godolphin colt is good enough on his debut. Sir Frank Morgan's breeding gives mixed messages regarding the trip but he's another to note.
