In depth

Verdict

Mick Channon continues in great form and is double handed in this opener. Jockey bookings point towards Red Flare and this one gets the nod over stable companion Splendidio and the Brian Meehan trained Deadshot Keen. The selection is very nicely bred son of Redback and is related to numerous winners. The yard are more than capable of getting one ready first time up and with Richard Quinn on board he looks the one to be on. Splendidio was quietly fancied for her Warwick debut and ran a race full of promise behind Just Joey. With improvement likely she should be in the firing line. Deadshot Keen also ran well on his debut, finishing a close up fourth in a class three event at Newmarket. With Frankie Dettori on board this one merits plenty of respect. The other newcomer to watch in the market is the Richard Hannon trained Kyle, but we return to Red Flare for the selection.
