In depth

Verdict

A competitive maiden gets proceedings under way and as usual in these types of events the market will be all important but the principals look to be Bathwick Rox, Indian Wizard and Scarlet Knight and the tentative vote is given to Bathwick Rox. The selection hails from a yard that can do no wrong with its two-year-olds is a speedily bred type and from what looks a good draw he is taken to score. Indian Wizard rates the main danger as he is well bred colt by Indian Ridge but he is bred to do better over a much longer trip and for that reason he is opposed. Scarlet Knight is another worthy of respect as he was a fair third on his debut behind Crocodile Bay and is sure to have learnt from the experience. Of the remainder The Snatcher is another well bred type that should be noted in the market while It's Only Jude is another that showed a modicum of ability on his debut and is sure to improve but for the winner we return to Batchwick Rox.
