Verdict

There are quite a few that can be considered for the opener but our choice is Rich Kid ahead of Mandelieu and Perfect Paula. Advertisement comes here having shown promise, while Art Sale showed something on his Goodwood debut and is entitled to improve on that. Flying Applause may have only beaten two home at Salisbury last time but he was not beaten too far in the contest, while Hadaf showed marked improvement from run one to two at Ripon last time and rates as a major player based on that third-placed effort. Hold That Call is another that has shown steady improvement, as evidenced by his Sandown third last time, and Little Knickers made late headway at Kempton last time on her debut and is entitled to come on for that effort. A 26,000 guineas gelded son of Kyllachy, Mandarinka is an interesting debutant, along with Willie Muir's Harry Gee, William Haggas's Mandelieu and Richard Hannon's 62,000 guineas purchase, Rich Kid. Perfect Paula may have only finished 13th in the Queen Mary Stakes last time but that was still a good effort and she is entitled to respect tody. Finally, Royal Confidence looked a ready-made winner of a run-of-the-mill maiden when second at Salisbury last time and also earns respect. It's a tricky contest with, once again, the selection being Rich Kid.
