        Verdict

        Scaramanga is 0-9 on the Flat but has placed the last twice and won over hurdles. Bright Eyed Eagle looked one to follow when scoring at Goodwood in June but he has not progressed as expected and is trying a new trip. Baasem is slipping down the handicap but is still 4lb higher than when last successful and Tronada’s bubble was burst off this mark last time at Yarmouth. FIVEANDTWENTY failed in his hat-trick bid at Catterick but the winner bolted up on his next start and the second has won twice over hurdles since so the form looks decent and Mark Johnston’s three-year-old is a pound lower here.
