In depth

Verdict

It was heavy going when ASCOT DAY (NAP) won over 1m4f at Ffos Las beating a subsequent winner three lengths in first-time headgear. He’s taken to shrug off a 6lb rise and is preferred to Pink Phantom. The latter made a winning start in handicaps over 1m2f at Chelmsford and there should be more to come from her while Zamperini finished in front of Thistimelastyear when third at Wolverhampton and can race off the same mark today. Delirium went close over 1m2f here last month but returned a disappointing favourite back here last time.
