In depth
Verdict
The form horse here is Gee Bee Em and she is chosen to lead home the newcomers Corker and Minnesota. Mick Channon's daughter of Piccolo showed terrific speed on her debut over six furlongs at Goodwood when just giving way in the closing stages to Trempjane. The drop back in trip here should be beneficial and she looks set to lose her maiden tag. Minnesota is superbly bred by Silver Hawk out of a Storm Bird mare, trainer Henry Candy has no trouble getting his charge's ready first time up so watch for any market moves. Gerard Butler has had a very quiet season by his standards but he could be about to turn the corner so Corker is also worth a cautionary look in the betting. Ridder, a promising fourth at Kempton on his debut, may prove best of the others but Gee Bee Em is the one that gets the verdict.
