In depth

Verdict

Mr Tyrrell is the only course winner in the line-up having won easily on firm going in May of last year. He was beaten a short-head over the track and trip earlier this month, though again that was on fast going. Medieval ran really well when a close third at Newmarket and the three-times winner has to be considered while Song Of The Isles can continue her good form and get into contention. The winner of a similar grade handicap at Chepstow, she ran well when placed in a better-class race at Salisbury on Friday and her regular rider's claim is a plus. Anglo Saxson landed a maiden handicap at Yarmouth before a decent effort from 5lb higher at Salisbury though HLAITAN (NAP) looks the one to beat. Hugo Palmer's 190,000gns son of Ifraaj is dropping to his lowest level and his latest close third on good to soft going at Newbury would probably be good enough.
