In depth

Verdict

It is not often you will see a Jonjo O'Neill runner at Bath, so top eight-year-old hurdler Refinement adds plenty of interest to this maiden. However we will side with the Sir Michael Stoute trained Comma, with Demisemiquaver and Unreachable Star also expected to go well. The selection has had plenty of chances already in here career but keeps finding one or two too good. Her most recent effort at Kempton looked a decent performance though, as the two horses that finished behind that day have run well since. Demisemiquaver has also been in good form and is almost on a par with the selection on official ratings, another big run is expected. Unreachable Star was an expensive purchase and has also shown plenty of ability, but wouldn't want any more rain. The pick of the others could be the Cumani trained newcomer Muscovado, but we will give Comma one last chance to lose her maiden tag this afternoon.
