In depth
Verdict
Amthaal started off over a mile and then 6f, both on heavy ground, but showed his liking for this trip and quicker going when runner-up at the Curragh and will make a bold bid to concede weight to his younger rivals. View The Bay showed very good early pace when runner-up at Dundalk in March and has been given plenty of time to mature so has to rate a threat though EARLY CALL will take some catching. Twice narrowly beaten over this trip at Navan, he ran a fine race in a very strong handicap at the Curragh a month ago when only fading inside the final furlong. Patrice's Wish was staying on over an extended 6f at Cork so this looks on the short side.
