In depth

Verdict

Bantry Bay won a maiden at the Curragh in May then got no sort of run behind stablemate Aloft in the Queen's Vase. He disappointed when dropped back to this trip at Roscommon last month and will need to do better. CHAPTER SEVEN hasn't won since York in 2012 but has been competing at a high level and been placed several times including at Group 3 level. It's about time he was winning again and this looks a good opportunity. Manalapan was in good form last summer though hasn't been seen since beating two rivals at Down Royal over a year ago and Time For Action has an even longer absence to overcome having finished last on his hurdling debut in April of last year. Altruistic, third behind Kingston Hill in the 2013 Racing Post Trophy, has had very little racing subsequently and shown nothing.
