In depth

Verdict

Ordinary fare to start with, but it does present Wensleydale Star with a good opportunity to finally rid himself of the maiden tag, while Simplified and Ebony Lady are respected with their claims at this level. Support for El Dee would also be interesting to note as he at least has some experience of this course and may appreciate this ease in grade. Ebony Lady doesn't have too much to find to make the frame in this company and will dangerous to rule out too quickly. However, she was readily held b the selection at Ripon earlier in the month and has improvement to find from somewhere if she is to reverse the form. Simplified has been in good heart lately and should handle the ground. The son of top-class sprinter Lend A Hand has been kept busy since the start of this year and has dropped to a handy mark after finding trips of seven furlongs and a mile too sharp for him; this being in spite of his pedigree suggesting otherwise. However, Wensleydale Star looks the more solid option over a mile and a half and, as he is also unexposed over the distance, this son of Alzao is fancied to have the extra stamina required when push comes to shove
