In depth

Verdict

Razin' Hell represents last year’s winning trainer. But he has recorded six of his seven wins so far at Southwell including his latest start and can race off a lower mark back on Turf. Penny Royale has just the one win in 18 attempts and last week’s Hamilton runner-up Final Venture has been done no favours by the draw. China Excels was ahead of See Vermont when scoring at Wolverhampton in March and is 5lb higher but course and distance winner Taffetta is back on a winning mark and last year’s third Windforpower is 5lb lower today. RAINBOW ORSE is making his seasonal debut having won twice over the minimum tip last term and he gets the nod with further progress is expected from Robert Cowell’s charge this year.
