Verdict
Miss Brookie just gets the vote in a less than inspiring opener, with Baytown Shamrock and Short Chorus others to consider. Bill Turner's filly at least has winning form under her belt, having comfortably beaten Obe Bold at Thirsk in April. She was runner-up behind a useful sort in Bella Boy Zee in a claimer the time before last, and a line through that winner suggests she should be able to take care of the consistent Baytown Shamrock. She did not see out the sixth furlong when disappointing at Newcastle last time and, back over the minimum trip, she looks the one to beat here. Of the rest, Emaradia and Queen's Square both have place claims, but slight preference goes to Short Chorus, who showed a glimmer of promise when fifth on her debut in a better race at Catterick and should be capable of improving on that.
