Verdict
Ardmay has been racing in better company but has been unable to take advantage of a slip down the ratings. He won a class 2 handicap at Ripon a year ago from a 10lb higher mark and in that kind of form would have no problems taking this. Stahoss is also 10lb lower than a year ago though he hasn't shown much and The Blue Banana is a massive 13lb higher than his victory here in September. NO POPPY hasn't raced on heavy ground since landing a York handicap in October 2012. She showed a bit more dash at Carlisle last time and Tim Easterby's mare can gain the eighth victory of her career. Les Eyre has brought Bob back from Spain with him and he's improved with each of his three starts but Ted's Brother didn't appear to enjoy the heavy ground here last month.
