In depth
Verdict
Whispered Promises can beat Romaric and Major Danger in an interesting nursery. The selection, like the rest of Mark Johnston's juveniles, has already paid to follow after hitting winning form at Catterick where he fought back well after being headed. His trainer has given him a little rest with a nursery campaign in mind and fully expects him to do well. The son of Real Quiet gets seven pounds off Romaric which will come in handy against the Loder colt who was probably too highly tried in Group 3 company at Newmaket last time, having earlier made a winning debut at Wolverhampton. Major Danger could be just that, but has a six pounds penalty after his Newcastle victory, gained with the aid of blinkers. It looks a three-horse race on paper, with Whispered Promises taken to provide the answer.
