In depth

Verdict

Wulimaster is an ideal type for a race of this nature and gets the nod over old stagers Gala Sunday and Gulf Coast. There are numerous others that can stake a claim to make this a good battle, so money for the likes of Scotty's Future, Superior Star and Red Rouge would also be noteworthy. However, race tactics and the form book can sometimes go out of the window in races of this nature, so the ability to stay and handle the track are vital factors. Wulimaster has no queries to answer on any of those levels and, at the weights has a solid chance of prevailing. The five-year-old loves a stiff finish to his races and, as he is really thriving on being kept busy just now, David Barker's gelding looks worth another throw of the dice.
