Verdict

ELECTIONEER won his maiden here and he can bounce back in the first-time eye-shields. Mick Easterby's gelding drops in trip today and off a mark of 72 he should trouble the more fancied runners from his good draw. Plenty of pace here, including Verinco and La Capriosa, which should the strong-staying pair of Captain Scooby and the returning Bedloe's Island. The consistent Select Committee may rate as more of a threat than Miss Daawe, although market support for the well-handicapped Time Medicean must be taken very seriously.
