Verdict

MOUNTAIN ANGEL followed two fair efforts on Tapeta with a very promising run in a Doncaster maiden when just failing to catch Firefright. He may have won but for being impeded on the rails so can gain compensation. Undiscovered Angel has gone close in two of her three starts to date and should be well suited by this stiff 7f while Daira Bridge, who was originally in the company of the selection's trainer but didn't run, made a very promising start for David O'Meara at Redcar. Gloriosus, who is related to some very useful performers, started odds-on for his debut at Musselburgh but missed the break and could never get into contention. Better will be expected of Mark Johnston's colt this time. Jim Crowley is travelling for one booked ride, Azaly, who he rode at Lingfield last time, so he's definitely one to keep an eye on.
