Verdict

ALEXANDER M made all for a convincing victory at Chester where he won with plenty in hand. He'll find this track very different but a 6lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another big run and he gets the vote. Barwell is another in top form having completed a double over this trip at Ripon and Haydock. He's now 8lb higher in stronger company but is progressing enough to get competitive again. Hollywood Road won over hurdles in May and over this trip at Windsor the following month. He's performed with credit at a similar level subsequently and has to be respected as does the locally trained Save The Bees, who was just touched off by today's rival Sunglider here in June and won at Redcar earlier this month. Sunglider couldn't quite handle Class 3 company last time but looks a real threat and should prove better than stable companion Maraakib.
