Golden Measure gets a narrow vote ahead of the likes of Cryfield, Tata Naka and River of Diamonds to name but three. Golden Measure has been very consistent of late since being stepped up in trip, and although this is a dramatic drop in distance, he remains one to keep on the right side of. Alan Swinbank's five-year-old would be no good thing here but nothing else stands out and he should make a bold bid to get losses back, having been sent off as favourite on that last assignment. Cryfield looks the main danger on his last outing here as he stayed on well towards the end of that mile contest and should be coming there strongly at the finish. Tata Naka has been unplaced on his last three starts and appears to be a shade too high in the weights at present, but the stable has sent out one or two winners lately. River of Diamonds failed to build on his Brighton success when easily beaten at Folkestone next time, but remains on a better mark than when scoring at Yarmouth last year so has a squeak. It is hard to make out a case for most of these though, and it is Golden Measure that is the pick.
