The veteran VIOLENT VELOCITY is still capable of a big run from this mark and generally goes well on the track as he did when scoring over a mile in May. He's well drawn on the inside and that may prove good enough to see off the three-year-olds Green Howard and Thatcherite, who are both drawn outside. The former is progressing very nicely and makes his handicap debut from a decent mark while Tony Coyle's charge overcame trouble in-running to score at Thirsk and there's probably more to come. Shotley Mac can give each-way backers a run as he scored over the C&D from 5lb higher last August and was making his seasonal debut on unsuitable ground at Ripon three weeks ago.
