    Verdict

Baytown Lulu has been kept busy having had four runs already, the latest of them at Catterick yesterday, and has to be respected if taking her chance but she is nothing out of the ordinary and it may be worth taking a chance on Sky Lodge, who is preferred to Half Pint Bill. The last mentioned represents the yard of Bill Turner that is beginning to hit form now but a draw in stall one is hardly ideal even in a field of this size and he is probably best passed over. Similar comments apply to Nigel Tinkler's twice-raced Dancing Edge in stall three and of more interest are those nearer the far side. Tim Easterby does not have great success with his juveniles first time out but Saddell is well berthed in stall eight and the daughter of Mull Of Kintyre has been pitched in at a very lowly level for her debut so cannot be discounted. It is very rare for Mick Easterby to have a two-year-old score first time up but the veteran handler has done well with his youngsters this term and Sky Lodge looks a likely type on pedigree being an Indian Lodge half-brother to several winners. Well drawn in stall seven, he may be able to provide his handler with a rare winner on his racecourse debut.
