In depth
Verdict
Most Definitely has been knocking on the door of late and is taken to gain due reward at the expense of Bridge Pal, Etching and Wadud. Tim Easterby's charge has started to come to hand, having been placed on each of his last three outings. On the latest occasion he was sent off favourite over the course and distance but failed to quicken enough to beat Kahyasi Princess on the rain-softened ground. To his credit he stuck to his task well and was eight lengths clear of the third, so a big run is on the cards. Bridge Pal is another 'nearly horse', having found one or two too good all season, and on breeding there has to be a doubt about her staying the trip. She is though a half-sister to Pinkerton's Pal who scored over hurdles late on in his career, so there is some hope that she will last out. Wadud flashed her tail and hung left on her third racecourse start at Doncaster, but is learning all the time, while Etching went down battling to Cheeky Girl on her first appearance in handicap company at Thirsk the time before last. She has every chance of staying the trip but as Tim Easterby trains Cheeky Girl, he will certainly know what Most Definitely has to do to fend off the Fanshawe challenger, and we are optimistic that the prize will go to the North Yorkshire stable.
