In depth

Verdict

Mrs Meader finished second in soft ground at Newmarket when last in action and PUCKLE was last seen finishing runner-up at Newcastle in October. Mark Johnston’s filly landed a course and distance double last summer and is only 2lb higher than her latest success. Regal Mirage won at the same fixture here but ran poorly on his reappearance and cheekpieces are applied while Calidus Mirabilis is fitted with a visor and steps back up in trip. Qawamees has won just once in 20 starts on the Flat and that was over 1m4f.
