In depth

Verdict

EDGAR ALLAN POE has never raced from such a low mark as at Catterick last month when narrowly beaten over the trip. He's up 2lb but should again have the beating of third-placed Strict Order, who has been well beaten over hurdles subsequently. Captain St Lucifer was beaten eight lengths into second at Yarmouth then ran poorly at Chelmsford while Tarnhelm has yet to prove she stays this far. Archive has won around here and hasn't been running as badly as form figures suggest.
