    In depth

Popsi had a short-head to spare over OUR LITTLE PONY in a seller at Redcar and will be better off at the weights. However, the runner-up was making her debut and didn't get going until too late so today's much stiffer track can enable her to turn the tables and go one better. Fourth-placed Society's Dream looks held but Just For The Craic drops into this grade for the first time and hasn't been running badly in maidens including on this track. Gay Kelleway doesn't send many here and One Drunken Night is by Sakhee's Secret out of a mare who has produced no less than eight winners with her first nine foals to race.

Just For The Craic (IRE) 9-2 (9-2) Tracked leader, led final furlong, headed inside final furlong, kept on same pace, 5th of 9, 1 1/2l behind Guzman (9-2) at Thirsk 5f stks (5) gf in May.

Autumn Belle 25-1 (9-0) Held up towards rear, effort over 2f out, headway over 1f out, kept on and no impression, 5th of 9, 9 1/4l behind Maggies Angel (9-0) at Ripon 5f fll stks (5) gf in Apr.

Christmas Night Compton Place gelding out of Night Haven.

Holmfirst 50-1 (9-5) Awkwardly away and slowly into stride, raced in last pair, outpaced over 2f out, weakened final furlong, last of 5, 13 3/4l behind Faithful Promise (9-0) at Musselburgh 5f mdn stks (5) gf in May.

Society's Dream (IRE) 6-1 (8-7) Disputed lead 1f, prominent, slightly outpaced 2f out, kept on inside final furlong but not pace of front trio, 4th of 7, 1 3/4l behind Popsi (8-7) at Redcar 5f stks (6) gf in May.

Our Little Pony 15-8fav (8-7) Went left and slowly into stride, behind, headway from over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, went 2nd inside final furlong, kept on, just failed, 2nd of 7, shd behind Popsi (8-7) at Redcar 5f stks (6) gf in May.
