        Verdict

        SAMSTAR is the first of a trio of runners to have travelled down from Mark Johnston’s yard at Middleham and can get the raiding party off to a flying start having shown significant improvement in a handicap over this trio at Pontefract 10 days ago. Mr Fox won at Chelmsford in march but has yet to show the same level of ability on Turf. Tartlette was a disappointing favourite at Chepstow last month but Miss Havana could figure if first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect.
