Kate Skate was well backed ahead of her run at Ripon on Monday and should go well whilst a move for Silent Annie would be of interest but SLASL is suggested in the hope that the blinkers work the oracle. Clive Brittain's filly has been slipping down the weights this season having struggled but she showed signs on her latest run at Yarmouth that she may soon be able to take advantage of the handicapper's clemency with the blinkers on to assist. Kate Skate was a shade unlucky in running on Monday and could be on the verge of a return to form, Silent Annie makes her debut for a new yard and moves into the handicap ranks for the first time as does Gilderoy and both need monitoring for encouragement in the market. Rosiliant has solid claims having been knocking on the door and should go close although she's drawn wide and is unlikely to be much of a price unlike Old Devil Moon and Marjolly who both have plenty to prove but are not without interest in a race where we prefer the claims of Slasl.
