Verdict
Liberation made a pleasing debut but is unlikely to be much of a price and so we will take a chance on ASCENDANT with Barood also rated as a danger. Sir Mark Prescott's Medicean colt made a pleasing debut at Kempton where he was very green and got the hang of things late on. The step up in trip is in his favour and assuming he handles the ground then he should run well. Liberation was an eye-catcher on debut a fortnight ago at Sandown. Held up having been outpaced at halfway the penny dropped late on and he was a fast closer at the line; expect a big run today with the stable in form. Medlock hasn't impressed in two starts to date, whilst the same applies to Appraisal and to a degree Adios Juan. On the contrary Piazza San Petro ran well at Leicester on Tuesday and would be a danger if lining up although quicker ground may be more suitable. Barood is a potential improver after just one start however it is Ascendant who can come out on top.
