        Verdict

        A modest affair in which a few can be considered but the first-time-visored Janes Valentine might provide the answer. Her second in a course and distance maiden last year told us that she can handle the track and the step up in trip from her most-recent run could also help. Alec Stewart's stable is in good form so the lightly-raced top-weight, Flaran, for who Kieren Fallon has been booked, could well go well despite having shown little so far. Stolen Song, Singularity and Compton Eclipse are all entitled to be competitive at this level, but first-time blinkers would need to bring about improvement from Brian Meehan's Saturnalia.
