Verdict
Paul Cole's Dunmaglass showed signs of ability in two starts as a juvenile but needs to step up on those efforts on his reappearance if he is to trouble My Putra, who is preferred to Love Always. The selection looked in need of the outing on his return to action last month but still ran creditably behind Gold Gun at Newbury and should strip fitter now. The ground may be faster than ideal for the son of Silver Hawk but Paul Cole's colt should outstay his only serious rival Love Always, who showed improved form on her second start for Simon Dow when second to Sir Michael Stoute's Asawer at Salisbury. Being by Pivotal she is far from certain to last out the extra two furlongs though and My Putra is preferred. Neither of the two newcomers, Heathcote nor Royale Acadou, makes any appeal on their debut and a bigger threat is likely to come from Dunmaglass but, in all reality, this should lie between Love Always and My Putra with preference for the latter.
