Verdict
Mister Clinton has the beating of Prime Offer on running in a a similar contest here over a mile three weeks ago and should confirm the form but may not be good enough to get the better of Dave, who gets the vote. The selection is a progressive three-year-old trained by John Best who showed improved for for the step up to six furlongs when landing an apprentices' handicap at Folkestone last month. There should be more to come over the extra furlong and the son of Danzero holds solid claims of following up. Mark Brisbourne's Roman Maze ran better than of late last time and has the assistance of Richard Hughes; a jockey booking that takes the eye. The David Nicholls-trained pair, Sir Don and Nemo Fugat are others to consider along with the consistent Stokesies Wish and Milton Bradley's Nine Red but it is the progressive Dave who gets the vote.
