    Verdict

Maxwil sets the standard from a form point of view however Brazilian Brush shaped well on debut and Hugh Morrison's charge is fancied to land this maiden. The selection has both fast and slow ground influences in his pedigree and so he should not mind what the weather does and assuming that his jockey can get him into a good rhythm coming down the hill, he may prove too strong in the closing stages for his rivals. He is sure to have come on for his debut and whilst he will get further in time, he is expected to be good enough today. Connor's Choice has shaped with plenty of promise in his four starts to date and mustn't be overlooked, whilst Rub Of The Relic is consistent, and whilst blinkers may eek out some improvement, he is ultimately yet to win in 11 starts. Holden Caulfield has contested two good maidens but hasn't been good enough to catch an awful lot so far, so of more interest is Maxwil. He has been big prices on his three outings but his run last time behind Billion Dollar Kid looks fair form and with the return to a mile likely to suit, he must go well. Flower and Rsmiya both need to improve, however Brazilian Brush doesn't have a lot to find and gets the vote.
