Verdict
A low grade handicap and most of these wouldn't be out of place in a seller. Alpha Rose has enjoyed a fine summer picking up a couple of races along the way. She is proven over course and distance and will be difficult to beat. Thorntoun Gold has been well placed this year to win four races. He started his winning run off a mark of 39 and is only on 54 now, having been dropped 3lbs for finishing a never nearer 5th at Bath, beaten two lengths. He looks sure to be in the shake up. Sharp Spice goes well here, but she is not guarenteed to get the strong pace she needs, to bring out the best in her. The three-year-old Triplemoon would certainly have a shout, if she could reproduce her effort behind the useful Reveillez, in a much better race than this at Ascot. She has since disappointed at Salisbury, but it may pay to overlook that effort as it was a slowly run event.
