Boanerges is not as good as he once was but has been running well enough in similar grade to this to be given a chance under his penalties under ground conditions that suit ideally on turf but Yorkshire Lad has an obvious chance at the weights and is preferred to Cloann. The last mentioned was well held at Kempton last time but has solid claims on earlier form on sand this winter and could be of interest back on turf. Ernst Oertel's Goldhill Prince has shown improved form of late and is another to consider along with Brendan Powell's Hadath, who deserves to win a race of this nature but tends to get going too late in his races. Stef Liddiard's Imperium has claims at the weights and is another to consider but the vote goes to Yorkshire Lad, who takes a big drop in class and, at the weights, has every chance of resuming winning ways.
