Verdict

A tricky end to the card and a chance is taken on OSO MAGIC over the in-form Shelomoh and handicap debutant Johns Square. The selection put in his best performance for a while when not beaten far at Catterick in December. His run behind More Like It was much more like it and he now looks competitive again racing off a mark of 93 today having won off 110 in the past. Admittedly his last win was over three years ago, but he can return to the winners enclosure this afternoon. Shelomoh has won his last two starts, both coming in testing conditions. He appears to revel in the mud over two miles and although he holds the selection on a form line through More Like It, the one worry would be his penalty. Duke Of Malfi has been disappointing of late but is perhaps not badly treated now, Anglican represents a yard that are hard to get right and he has a lot of weight on his back, whilst old-timer Hollows Mill is once again likely to give it his all. Johns Square has had three moderate hurdles starts and he enters handicaps on a pauper's mark of 85 for this chasing bow. This son of Saddlers' Hall is more likely to make an impression in this sphere and he must be of interest with AP McCoy coming for the ride, however for the winner we will stick with Oso Magic.
