In depth
Verdict
Princess Ellis gets the vote over Mangano, Kilvickeon and Moonlight Applause. This appears to be a fairly tight-looking handicap, with not much between them all, and only a tentative vote goes the way of Princess Ellis, successful at Ayr the time before last. On that occasion she got the better of Mangano in a thrilling finish, and can actually meet the latter on 4lb better terms. She failed in her follow-up bid at the Scottish track 12-days ago, hanging in the closing stages as she tried to see out the sixth furlong, but had Mangano in arrears again, and back over the minimum, will hopefully bounce back, even though she faces a stiff uphill finish today. Kilvickeon came from way off the pace at Kempton last time, and although still a maiden, is one to keep on the right side of, while Moonlight Applause has it to do with the selection on today's terms. All in all, it is Princess Ellis that is the pick.
