In depth

Verdict

TAHITI PEARL had to battle to beat Sergeant Pink at Sedgefield on Boxing Day but the runner-up franked the form later. Sue Smith's gelding found a higher mark and better company too handle at Doncaster four weeks ago but is back in the right grade here and can get back to winning ways. Saddle Pack is a course and distance winner on good going and can't be ignored but Diamond Frontier is inconsistent and not the force of old. Nowurhurlin could be interesting as he's had just the one run over fences and was only beaten a length-and-a-half off today's mark over hurdles last time but the remainder are too unreliable to consider.
