In depth
Verdict
Kentucky Blue is selected ahead of Rayshan and Tous Chez. The last named won a couple of times over hurdles and is not without ability. A bit of give underfoot would not go amiss with him and, as he can be assured to have been well schooled at home, a bold bid can be expected from Sue Smith's charge. Rayshan won here over timber and has plenty of scope for improvement in this sphere. He has adapted well to the winter game and looks sure to be a popular choice in the betting market. However, Kentucky Blue has experience of chasing and is fancied to seen to good effect in a race of this nature. Russ Garrity knows the gelding well and the partnership look the value option here.
