Verdict
Captain Biggles was odds-on when beaten by Game Socks at Plumpton in December and the winner hasn’t done much for the form. Winning bumper Father John showed nothing over timber before a surprise success at Worcester in September and looks likely to improve further but will need to if he’s to take care of MALPAS. Donald McCain’s charge fell in three of his four starts over hurdles before getting his act together over 2m1f here last month and the longer trip shouldn’t be a problem.
